Well, folks, I have been a long time away from the Basement Tapes—over a year—but I am back on track now, serving up more rarities, grotesqueries, obscenities and occasional epiphanies as they occur in the raw Telepathic Dumpster rehearsal environment. This is the Dumpster UNFETTERED and UNCENSORED, just as we sound at our weekly practices! This volume represents some tying up of loose ends in our back catalog—note that most of the offerings in Vol. 7 date back to 2006. But there’s plenty of good stuff here—thirteen, count ‘em, THIRTEEN new tracks—and we may still be playing “catch-up” through Vol. 8, serving out Basement Tapes tunes from late 2006 and the first half of 2007. Stay tuned!

A pretty goddamned good recording of this great Carl song that first appeared in Basement Tapes Vol. 5 and has been a big hit at recent (spring 2006) shows.

No vocals yet, but this is the groove that will eventually form the basis for the song “Rewind.” Groovy!

Yes, I have a “one track mind” when it comes to this hilarious song—so here it is again, including a fancy new bridge/finale!

A song that celebrates the virtues of one of our favorite people, Tom Klinnert. Delightful!

Logical Phallusies (Josh’s New Song)

A great chord progression of Josh's that I hope isn't diminished by my and Carl's vocal foolings.

In terms of theme, nothing surprising here, really. But highly amusing, at least to me--and, I hope, to you!

Such a great riff!

A longer, more vamp-y version of this funky Basement tapes classic! Also features some great vocal work by Emily in the second half of the track.

Perhaps the definitive version of this awesome pop (or is that poop?) song. Destined for cinematic history as the opening credits theme of SPIDERTRON 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO.
Play With A Bison's Private Parts

This track is an excellent example of the way Carter can say a phrase and Carl can instantly covert it into a song. And such a catchy one at that!
